Arnoldfreunde, das Original mit Wissensbasis und Support zu unseren Fahrzeugen

Hallo Arnoldfreunde,

ich stelle für jeden der mag das STL File der Endkappen zur Verfügung.
Als Gegenleistung lasse ich mich gerne bei einem Treffen auf ein Pils einladen. Eine kurze email und innerhalb von ein zwei Tagen versuche ich die Files per email zu versenden. Es sind zwei Versionen, einmal erhabene Schrift einmal versenkte Schrift. Dann kann jeder nach seinen Möglichkeiten drucken oder drucken lassen. Übrigens bei meinem Drucker braucht man ca. eine Stunde wenn alles klappt.

PS. Matthias gib mir bitte per mail deine Adresse, denn die hier hinterlegte funktioniert nicht.

How about opening an „Arnold-Channel“ on thingiverse?

After slicing them my calculation is:
6 end caps = 28.08€ (4,68€/pc).
Plus shipping cost.
Could be even a bit cheaper if more people need this part.

I could print them with ABS (black)
as well as with BioPila (white).

One thing to note: I can not tell you whether these materials are really UV-resistant - so I would recommend to paint them before installing.

As of my current schedule I should be able to do the test next week around Wednesday, maybe Thursday.

Reg. the number of end caps - thinking of my RM35L I would need 8 -
because on the door side there are 4 in total...
Are you guys shure that 6 is the right number?

eines solltet ihr vor einer Anfertigung prüfen: Wolfgang hat die Kappen für seine selbstklebenden modernen Leisten entworfen. Für die Originalen passen die wahrscheinlich nicht, sondern sind eher zu flach. Für originale Stossleisten müssten diese m.E. zumindest hinsichtlich Abmessungen überprüft und ggfls. konstruktiv überarbeitet werden.

Nicht dass es nachher Verwunderung gibt....

Peter made a good point:

The end caps constructed by Wolfgang are designed for the self adhesive trim strips he used for his car. These will not fit for the original trim strips of Arnold!

For the original trim strips the design is a bit more complicated, as I know.
I may can reconstruct them but that takes time.
I am currently working on reconstructing the window closure mechanism of the rear side windows - which are surprisingly tricky to draw;-)

so wie ich die mir vorliegenden Bilder von deinem Arni interpretiere hast du hinten Fenster vom Typ Seitz S3 verbaut. Ich glaube da gibt es noch Originalersatzteile. Schau mal in den Frankana Ersatzteilkatalog und dann Markus (Slowrace!), wg. Lieferbarkeit.

Auch wenn es andere Griffe sein sollten: Auch da gibt es Hilfe.

Ansonsten gilt bei Ersatzteilen immer: Fragen, fragen, fragen.... entweder hier im Forum oder auch direkt bei mir ... natürlich darf man vorher auch in unserer Ersatzteilliste nachschauen.

Das ist der Griff, dem ich meine.
Habe ich im Frankana-Katalog nicht gefunden - aber man weiß ja aus Erfahrung, dass in Katalogen stöbern nicht so meine Domäne ist;-)

So here's what one can expect as far as the print quality is concerned.

The black is ABS, the (snow) white one is PLATec - this stuff is as sturdy as ABS and can stand even higher temperatures.
As said earlier I would recommend to paint both of them as I would not trust this stuff to be really UV-resistant over time. And as Arnie-drivers we plan for decades, don't we...

as I can see you printed without PVA filament. If you have the highest resolution printing and another type of top bottem fill pattern.
With ABS have a temperature of 230 grd so that the thread runs perfectly over the cavity. Without PVA you do not get it perfect. The cavity is used for the adhesive pad and must be even and evenly deep.
The price you offer is very good. Because I know how much time is on it. Do you have the possibility to print with dual extruder? I just ordered everything in China. Here is a first draft picture of the small end caps for the 33mm wide moldings. Discreet with the Josef Arnold Fahrzeugbau logo. Before I glue the small caps (pads) but I will wait for the dual extruder. ABS is always a challenge. Warping is always a problem. My print bed comes only on 99-100 grd but should be at least 110 grd because I have no thermo Cover above the printer.

Hi Wolfgang,

the test prints my not be perfect as they where printed with just 0,2mm resolution. Without supports and Raft, directly on the print bed.
My production-machine is a Raise3D N2, which has a fully closed housing and can print quite big items (up to 30x30x30 cm).

With ABS I do rarely have any warping problems at all, print bed preheated at 110°C and Buildtak-print-surface.
I do have that kind of problems with bigger Nylon-parts by the way.

The low price comes due to straight forward printing without much pre- or postprocessing.

That's why I posted the pictures so people can see what they can expect and decide whether they are okay with the quality or not.

I'll do test print at higher resolution today and post a picture of that as well.
As per quick calculation this will be at 10,-€/part then...

By the way - I found PVA does not to work well with ABS - actually, I have the impression this stuff does not work well with anything.
I prefer BVOH, which is a bit more expensive but much more compatible plus dissolves much quicker.
Again prints with support material would be more expensive.

Btw. - where did you get the Logo from?
